When should my child start going to a dentist?

Good morning Gresham, Fairview, Troutdale, Sandy, Clackamas and Happy Valley! Dr. Seth here with a few tips regarding the age and stage children should start seeing a dentist.

Main Street Dental 6

Here at Main Street Dental, Gresham, OR we will not charge you or your kiddo for their first few visits. We want the dental office to be a fun and relaxed experience for them. So much so, we will schedule time to play or just watch a show with your kiddo to acclimate them to the dental experience. Tracy Revel is the master of child cleanings and will make you and your young one feel right at home! In a recent publication in the Clark County (WA) Columbian (7/3) , the paper reported that the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry “recommends children see a dentist by their first birthday or within six months after their first tooth erupts.” One of the main reasons we like doing these early visits is to go over any questions you may have regarding your child’s oral health. Please let us know if you have any questions and do not hesitate to call! 503-665-8283.
